Description:
• Create electrical engineering designs and produce engineering construction designs for high voltage electrical engineering projects.
• Prepare design packages for electrical equipment including drawings, scopes, and technical specifications.
• Develop Bill of Materials, estimates and drawings for electrical engineering projects.
• Provide project support with respect to defining the scope, conducting design reviews for compliance with industry standards, quality assurance issues, inspection and commissioning.
• Outlines design intent, requirements and objectives.
Roles:
• Develop the Electrical design concepts, criteria and specifications for projects.
• Co-ordinate, control and supervise all engineering, design and materials control work carried out for projects.
• Ensure technical adequacy of engineering and design consistent with economy, good engineering practice, safety in design and specific requirements of the project.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to all staff engaged on the project in his group.
• Thoroughly understand the contractual scope of work and raise variation requests for any work not covered as part of the work scope but is required to be undertaken for job completion.
• Coordinate with vendor and sub-contractors for engineering inputs and implement the same
• Review bid analyses and make recommendations.
Experience Requirements:
• At least (10) years working experience, including seven (7) years as lead electrical design engineer.
• Experience in initiating designs related to Electrical (high and low voltage) systems. Strong working knowledge of Electrical Engineering Design, Bill of Materials Engineering, operations and Maintenance a must.
• Crafts training to use electrical tools and test instruments to conduct field surveys and use of engineering instruments in plotting the design required.
• Excellent computer skills. Familiarity with electrical software used in electrical design used in developing various fields of electrical design of low and high voltage power distribution, grounding systems and lighting design.
• Ability to travel if needed within or outside Nigeria.
