The successful candidate will under the direct supervision of the Administrative Specialist, carry out the following responsibilities: 1. Monitors inventory level of Office consumables and advices management through customizable business dashboard and built-in best practices.

2. Maintains an overview of the work of the office to ensure that timely administrative support is provided in general and Non-Expendable Property (NEP) areas. Reviews and evaluates work of subordinate directly.

3. Process obsolete equipment and obtains technical reports for PSB deliberations and pursue same until items are disposed.

4. Produce periodic reports on the status of office supplies and other related items to management.

5. Improves cost effectiveness in advising the section Supervisor on most cost effective way of carrying out clerical and administrative work. Support supervisor to organize regular meetings within the section to discuss procedures and practices and how to improve the work processes of the section; to determine whether training is needed for understanding of different procedures/processes and related circulars/administrative instructions;

6. Regular inspection of Office premises and NEP and to make recommendation for disposal of NEP.

7. Drafts policy and prepares correspondence, special reports, evaluations and justifications, as required, on general administrative or specialized tasks that may be of a confidential nature within assigned area of responsibility.

8. Analyzes and maintains an overview of personal property, equipment, tooling and physical capital assets that are acquired and used by UNICEF Nigeria; Institutes the processes, systems and manpower required to manage the life cycle of all acquired property including acquisition, control, accountability, responsibility, maintenance, utilization, and disposition.

9. Update the computerized records of inventory control after Physical inventory of non-expendable property; prepare annual Inventory reconciliation report to NYHQ. Record and tag all new equipment and furniture procured. Take inventory of Government furniture.

Minimum qualifications and competencies:

• Completion of secondary education; Degree or its equivalent in business administration is desirable.

• Seven years of progressively responsible work in administration and related duties. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft office is required.

• Fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of one other UN working languages and knowledge of local language of the duty station is an asset.

• Very good communications and ability to produce clear and concise reports

• Analyzing skills and Planning and organizing.

• Very good knowledge of computer applications

• Strong drive for result and ability to work well with people particularly in a multicultural setting

• Following instructions and procedures

• Initiative, passion and commitment to UNICEF's mission and professional values.
