I have talked about the crisis of the west African sub region, the causes and effect historically, let talk about the central Africa, which is the second troubled region in Africa.
Great lake, Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda and Congo has experienced complex multiplicity of interlocking regale and it is the local and international forces that are either escalating the conflicts or mitigating them, making peace making complicated and very difficult. Conflict in these region keep moving from one country to another.
The reason for this is simple, they are not internal struggle as it seems in its entirety, though with some internal factors, but mostly are influenced by foreign and local neighboring countries. some neighboring countries who benefit from the other country, join hands to pursue what seems as beneficial to it by either creating conflict when their rout of benefits lost the power or supporting conflict in favor of their source of benefit . The same applies to foreign nations which enjoy resource exploitation in these troubled regions.
In 1993, over 20,000 people died in Burundi, in 1994, genocide in Rwanda, claiming about 1million lives, in 1996,it went back to Burundi and DR Congo, where about 2.5million people were killed and it also created about 600,000 refugee and 2million Internally displaced persons,1n 1997, Denis Sassou overtook the government, ending a 4 month democratically elected government, and France supported and provided, Logistic and Moral support for it.
African leaders and its people must learn from these past absurdity and engage each other in the most reasonable manner and resolve their internal conflict without resolving to crisis. these would, not only promote peace and harmony, but would make development achievable in the nearest future.
