Gunmen yesterday shot dead a woman and her 10-year-old child when they stormed their house located in Zannari area on the outskirt of the Maiduguri metropolis.
Daily Trust gathered that the woman and her child were shot when the gunmen stormed their residence Saturday night. Sources said that gunmen stormed a house in Zannari area around 8:30pm and shot dead the woman and her son. The gunmen also in two different attacks yesterday killed a trader at the Gamboru Market and an unidentified man on the outskirt of Maiduguri.
Witnesses said that pandemonium broke out at the market yesterday morning when the gunmen stormed the market and shot sporadic into the air.
The gunmen, it was gathered, slaughtered the trader who was an iron bender before they fled.
The JTF spokesman, Lieutenant Colonel Hassan Mohammed and spokesman of the Borno Police Command, ASP Samuel Tizhe, could not be reached last night but the police spokesman confirmed the killings to BBC Hausa service monitored in Maiduguri.
