NATIONAL Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South-east Olisa Metu said yesterday that he decided to join in the race for the National Publicity Secretary of the party to bridge the missing link between the party and the people.
According to him, the PDP has been misrepresented and victimized following the disconnect between it and Nigerians. He promised to work with the leadership to reposition the party.
Speaking to reporters in Enugu, Metuh who had served the party in various capacities in the past 11 years, said that he would rely on his experience to foster unity in the state chapters where, he noted, peace had eluded them.
He said his leadership of the party in the zone in the last four years has restored unity and vibrancy in the conduct of its affairs, stressing that the PDP had become one in the zone excerpt in Anambra State where leadership crisis had seemingly defiled all solutions.
Meanwhile, some aspirants for the post of Deputy National Secretary zoned to Ebonyi State, are said to be awaiting the pronouncement of Governor Martin Elechi to throw their hats in the ring.
