POSITION TITLE: Gas Upstream Industry Analyst (P-4)

LOCATION: Doha, Quatar

DEPARTMENT: Energy & Gas Market Analysis

REPORTS TO: Department Head of Energy & Gas Market Analysis

WORKS CLOSELY WITH: Statistics & Gas Modeling Department

ORGANISATION: Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF)

ADVERTISER: Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC)

JOB HIGHLIGHTS

To collect and study data and information related to upstream gas industry including all activities and development processes in exploration and production; to assess the medium to long-term supply potential capacity of both GECF and non-GECF countries as well as its main determinants such as reserves, energy prices and investment trends, technology advances, energy policy changes, and environmental regulations.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1. To collect and study information and data related to world petroleum reserves and production.

2. To prepare, on the basis of the above information, independent assessments of recoverable reserves, gas company strategies in the upstream sector of the petroleum industry and gas production capacity of each province or area.

3. To collect all data relating to fiscal regimes and gas production cost in the major producing regions, and estimate the investment needed for any set production level.

4. To study the behavior and characteristics of major producing field in relation to the method of exploitation.

5. To monitor the technology changes and assess their impact on the medium- to long-term gas recovery rate, production and costs.

6. To conduct any study relevant to the upstream gas industry.

7. To carry out any other tasks assigned to him by his relevant superiors as pertain to his background, qualifications and position.

Requirements to the candidate for the position of Gas Upstream Analyst

I. GENERAL

1. Citizenship: Member Country

2. Age: 45 maximum

3. Languages: Good command of written and spoken English

4. Education: BSc./B.A in Petroleum Geology, Reservoir Engineering, Economics or related Sciences

5. Readiness to travel: To be adjusted according to business necessity

II. SPECIFIC

1. Work experience: Minimum of six (6) years' varied experience, after qualifying, in the field of gas exploration or reservoir engineering in an international gas company, national gas company or government agency.

2. Knowledge and skills:

• Good knowledge of planning and analysis of exploration and exploitation activities, including modeling, is essential.

• Basic knowledge of the environmental impact of upstream activities is desirable.

• Analytical and independent thinking

• Analytical writing

• Ability to work in international and professional team environment

• Effective oral and written communication skills

• Ability to work independently and in team while meeting deadlines

• Commitment to quality work and strong attention to details

I. GENERAL INFORNATION

6. Address: Tornado Tower, 47-48 floors, West Bay area, Doha, Qatar, P.O. Box 23753

7. Working hours: From 7:00 to 15:30

8. Working days: Sunday – Thursday

II. INFORMATION on EMPLOYMENT CONTRACT

1. Type of Contract / Contract Duration: Fixed 2 years, with possibility of renewal

2. Probationary period:6 months

3. Applicable Law: Employment Contract is governed and construed in accordance with the laws of Host Country Agreement and the State of Qatar

4. Jurisdiction: According to Host Country Agreement with the State of Qatar

III. STATUS & SUBORDINATION

1. Instructions and directions: Under direct instructions and directions of the Head, Energy & Gas Market Analysis Department

2. Reporting to: Head, Energy & Gas Market Analysis Department

3. Status: Category I (Professional Staff), P4 grade

4. Working closely with: Staff of Statistics & Gas Modeling Department and Energy & Gas Market Analysis Department

IV. SALARY & BENEFITS

1. Salary: Net monthly USD 9,000

2. Housing Allowance: 35 % of basic salary paid on a monthly basis

3. Car Allowance: 6,5 % of basic salary paid on a monthly basis

4. Medical Insurance Provided by Forum for employee and dependents

5. Children education: Education allowance up to 12000 USD per child per school year

6. Other allowances Installation allowance; Family allowance for dependent spouse

and children; Annual cost of living allowance

7. Provident fund: Participation in Forums' saving scheme for employee, to be paid

upon resignation

V. HOLIDAYS AND VACATION

1. Annual Paid Leave: 30 days

2. Home Leave Ticket: On completion of 1 year service for employee and dependents

(spouse and children)

3. Official Holidays app. 15 days per year
