Mamelodi Sundowns could be in trouble with the PSL DC after their fans hit referee Victor Hlungwane with water bottles and vuvuzelas last night.
Sundowns drew 1-1 with Bidvest Wits (http://www.kickoff.com/league/psl/match-report/6048/bidvest-wits-draw-with-mamelodi-sundowns.php) at Loftus Stadium, after a 90th-minute equaliser from 17-year-old substitute Muhammed Patel.
Downs fans went berserk after the game, following the match official's decision to rule Katlego Mphela's attempt offside in the dying seconds of the game.
TV replays showed that Mphela was indeed in an offside position.
The Brazilians have collected just three points in their last three games, with no wins, and frustration seems to be creeping up on their fans, following two months at the top of the log.
Match commissioner Mark Lindon, who witnessed the incident at Loftus, tells KickOff.com that he will definitely be compiling a report and submitting it to the PSL.
"Even though no one was injured, this is not acceptable," Lindon sayd. "It was a great decision by the referee, as the goal was offside, and it was sad to see the Sundowns fans taking their frustrations out on the referee."
