The biggest derby in South Africa returns for a second stint in the League on March 17. This pits us Bhakaniya fans against our bitter rivals the Amakhosi faithful. Following our form from last season, we have been the better team when it comes to the Derby, triumphant over Chiefs four out of the five times we have faced them, so we are pretty confident.
As current League Champions, our performance in the first half of the League has not been satisfactory and Pirates will need a win against Amakhosi to keep our chance of defending the title alive.
It is expected that our high-profile striker Benni McCarthy will come to the party along with senior team players like Thulasizwe Mbuyane, Andile Jali and Oupa Manyisa. With the CAF Champions League and the second star in our sights, it seems coach Julio Leal may look at resting key players, which means our new signings Sifiso Myeni, Luis Boa Morte and co. should be ready to perform in what will be one of their biggest tests
