Title: Dolphins lay ambush for Coton Sport
Post by: MrVan on Mar 23, 2012, 11:00 AM
Nigeria's representatives in the CAF Champions League, Dolphins will this weekend in Port Harcourt play Coton Sport of Cameroon in a first leg final round qualifying fixture of Africa's elite club competition.

The Coach Zakare Baraje-tutored Dolphins side go into the explosive match with an eye for goals against the 2008 finalists, who also come into the match with a plan to thwart all ploys of their hosts.

Having posted impressive results in the games leading up to this weekend's cracker, both teams would be confident of their abilities to deliver but Coach Baraje said the onus was on his side to take the boys from Garouna to the cleaners.

Speaking on telephone, Baraje challenged his players not to falter at this stage of the competition, noting that it was better for them to win big at home than hope for a miracle in Cameroon when the return leg holds in a fortnight.

He added that the quest to play in the lucrative group stage of the competition was going to be an extra motivation for his boys when they step out against their visitors

"We want to make use of our chance at home. I hope that my players will prove that they are capable of performing against a top team like Coton Sport. We need to beat them well so that our chances of qualifying for the group stage will come true", said Baraje.
