Bayero University, Kano invites all candidates who chose it as their First Choice University in the 2012 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to a Screening Exercise scheduled to take place on Monday 10th, Tuesday 11th and Wednesday 12th September, 2012.
(A) QUALIFIED CANDIDATES ARE:
Candidates who scored 180 and above for the programmes in the Faculties of:
• Agriculture
• Arts and Islamic Studies
• Education
• Science
Candidates who scored 200 and above for the programmes in the Faculties of:
• Law
• Social and Management Sciences
• Engineering
• Medicine (except M.B.B.S candidates).
MBBS candidates who scored 220 and above.
(B) DATES FOR SCREENING:
The screening will take place in the University at New Campus along Gwarzo Road by 9.00am on each day. Candidates are advised to be at their assigned venues by 8.00am prompt, at the New Campus.
DAY 1: Monday, 10th September, 2012 – Biological and Physical Sciences.
This comprises applicants for the following programmes: All programmes in the Faculty of Medicine, P.H.E., Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Education Biology, Education Chemistry and Faculty of Agriculture; all programmes in the Faculty of Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Geography, Computer Science, Technical Education, Education Mathematics, Education Physics, Education Science, and Education Physics/Geography.
DAY 2: Tuesday 11th September, 2012 - Management, Social Sciences and All Education Social Sciences.
This comprises applicants for the following programmes: Management Science courses, Education Economics, Education Geography and all Social Science Courses including Mass Communications.
DAY 3: Wednesday 12th September 2012 – Law, Arts and All Education Arts. This comprises applicants for the following programmes: All courses in Faculty of Law, all courses in the Faculty of Arts and Islamic Studies, Adult Education, Special Education, Library Science and all Education Arts courses.
(C) METHOD OF APPLICATION
Payment and Registration for the screening exercise will commence from Wednesday 22nd August and close by Friday, 7th September, 2012.
The procedure for the 2012/2013 Post – UTME screening exercise is as follows:
• visit (Bayero University, Kano (http://u.theinfostrides.com/buk-edu))
• Click on Post UTME Registration
• Use your UTME Registration Number and UTME total score to log into the Registration Portal.
• Upload your picture and enter additional details before continuing the registration.
• After uploading your profile, proceed to download and print your Payment Invoice.
• To make the payment, applicants are to take the Payment Invoice to any branch of Zenith Bank Nationwide and pay a non-refundable fee of N2,500.00 (being cost of screening as well as Bank and Administrative charges).
• After making payment, Applicants should go back to the Portal, log in again and print their exam card (Preview and confirm your information before printing your Exam Card). Note that applicants cannot print their exam card until their payment is processed and verified.
NB:
• Applicants are to come to the screening centres with the following:
a. Exam Card.
b. Writing Materials (2B Pencil and Eraser).
• Applicants who chose the University as their SECOND choice areNOT qualified to register for the screening exercise.
• Candidates, whose UTME subject combinations are not appropriate to the programmes they applied for, are NOT qualified for the exercise.
• A comprehensive list of those who have met the requirement for both BUK and JAMB has been published in the University website – please check (Bayero University, Kano (http://u.theinfostrides.com/buk-edu))
• GSM Phones are not allowed during the Post UTME screening exercise.
• Payment at Zenith Bank will be closed on Friday, 7th September, 2012.
• The Portal for the printing of Exam Card will be closed by mid-night on Sunday, 9th September, 2012.
Any Candidate who fails to register for the screening exercise and/or fails to appear for the screening test on the stipulated date will not be considered.
