US property mogul Donald Trump's sons Eric and Donald jr were licensed to hunt game in Zimbabwe two years ago, says Zimbabwe's parks authority.
This comes after pictures of them posing with their trophy kills sparked outrage among animal rights groups. Last week Suzanne Ackerman-Berman, daughter of Pick n Pay founder Raymond Ackerman wrote a letter to the Trumps expressing her distaste.
The photographs show them posing next to carcasses of a leopard, a crocodile, a buffalo, a civet, a kudu and other animals.
Caroline Washaya-Moyo, of the parks authority, said on Monday: "They were accompanied by a professional hunter and his licence is still valid. Also with the Trump brothers was a ranger from the parks department. The animals they hunted are available for hunting in Zimbabwe. "
The trip was organised by a Pretoria hunting outfit.
