Remember
Bastian Gotter? The backstage co-founder of
Iroko Partners (http://techloy.com/company/iroko-partners) who has been a business partner of
Jason Njoku (http://techloy.com/people/jason-njoku) and a major financier of the company for the past two years.
We've just learned that he's quit his job as a Middle Distillates Trader for BP Oil International, where he traded $75 million annually to join Iroko Partners on a full-time basis.
In a message posted on his Facebook wall a few hours ago, Gotter said:
"I left my 75mn dollar a year spec trading book leader role to run Iroko partners – I respect myself !"Gotter, who initially had a 50% stake in Iroko Partners after investing £100,000 ($160,000) has been a board member of the company since May 2010.
It is unclear what his new role would be at Iroko Partners, but it seems likely that he would be working out of the company's London office.
The company recently
received $8 million in funding (http://techloy.com/2012/03/20/iroko-partners-8-million-funding/) from Tiger Global, a New York-based privately-owned investment firm.
