The Gateway to Newcastle Scholarship is a merit-based award intended for Norwegian undergraduate and graduate students who will study abroad at Newcastle University.

Scholarship Description: Alumnus Peter Smedvig is the founding benefactor to the Gateway to Newcastle Scholarship who not only gave the first donation to the fund, but pledged to match any further donations made by his fellow alumni to the Fund. As a Gateway to Newcastle Scholar students will join many notable graduates who have gone on to be leaders in their field. The value of this scholarship is £2,000 for a student who is studying at Newcastle University for a full year or £1,000 for a semester. The scholarship will be payable towards living expenses.
