Title: ICC wants Gaddafi’s son
Post by: iolsa on Apr 05, 2012, 01:00 PM
The International Criminal Court (ICC) on Wednesday called on Libya to immediately hand over for trial Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, the  son of the late Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, Arab media reported.

The court rejected Libya's earlier request to delay the handover, and insisted that Libyan authorities "comply with (their)  obligations to enforce the arrest warrant," the Dubai-based al Arabiya said.

On June 27, 2011 the ICC issued a warrant for Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, accusing him of crimes against humanity during the crackdown on Libyan protesters which eventually led to the toppling  of Muammar Gaddafi in August.

The new rulers of Libya have insisted on bringing Gaddafi to trial at home.
