Eligibility:
The post holder should have a solid knowledge and practical experience with molecular biology (DNA cloning, sequencing, PCR), cell biology (cell culture, confocal microscopy) and protein biochemistry (Western blotting). Experience with developmental biology or methods to analyse protein-protein interactions (e.g. by yeast-two hybrid screens) would be advantageous. The applicant should also be willing to approach new techniques such as the culture of primary cardiomyocytes and to work effectively as part of a team.

Scholarship Description: A research associate is required to join a dynamic BHF-funded interdisciplinary cardiovascular research grouping for 36 months. The post holder will join the Section of Muscle Cell Biology in the Cardiovascular Division to conduct a BHF-funded project on the role of actin-regulating proteins in the heart and will be experienced in cellular and molecular biology as well as biochemistry.
