LAGOS—Former President of the Interim Government, Chief Ernest Shonekan, has said that it will be wrong for Nigerians to blame the Federal Government over its alleged inability to resolve the current insecurity problem in the country.
He said if the problem of insecurity must be addressed, every Nigerian must be involved.
According to Shonekan, it was wrong for Nigerians to watch while things go bad without doing anything to remedy the situation as President Goodluck Jonathan cannot solve the current insecurity challenges in the country alone.
Shonekan spoke at the Easter concert organised by The Apostolic Faith Choir and Orchestra in Anthony, Lagos, weekend.
He said: "Nigerians should not leave security to the government alone but individuals in the society, in our small communities, we should also be actively involved in the security issue. We should pray more for peace and stability in the country, Nigerians should not relent in praying for the betterment of our country."
He urged Nigerians to love one another, be their brothers' keepers as it is provided in the Holy Bible and other books of faith and forget what had happened in the past.
Also present at the Easter concert was Deputy Governor, Operations, Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Mr. Tunde Lemo, who advised Nigerians to be vigilant to discourage any individual or group from causing havoc in the country.
Lemo added that Nigerians should emulate the humble and sacrificial life of Jesus Christ, who left heaven and took the form of man to redeem mankind, adding "we should put the country first; for a great country to be built.
"There is crisis everywhere in the world but let us pray, be our brothers keepers, be vigilant against any individuals or groups that that would want to cause problems in our communities."

yes i have always been saying that...that words security is not just a government thing. Security is evrybodys reponsibility. We have to be merciful on ourselves enough and take it upon us to restore security bak to this nation
