Arewa Youths Congress, AYC, has urged the Governor of the Central Bank, CBN, Lamido Sanusi Lamido, to respond to allegations by a prominent Northern politician over the huge cost of his new building in Kano State, saying that it was not auspicious for the CBN boss to gloss over the matter.
Dr Junaid Mohammed had expressed reservations over alleged huge cost of Mr Sanusi's house on Aliu Avenue, in Kano, asking him ''to tell us where he got the money from.''
Mohammed had been quoted as saying, ''I don't believe Sanusi's worth could have afforded the land not to talk of the building he is erecting on the land.
''Let him tell us where he has got the money to build that kind of house.
And for your information, you don't make it under a PDP government unless you are compromised, no way. Nobody, I tell you, nobody is clean in this government. If you are clean, you can never make it in the PDP. And let him come and deny that he is not a member of the PDP".
Also referring to the N100 million donation to the Kano victims of Boko Haram by the CBN, Junaid described the expenditure as not only reckless but irresponsible.
However, in a statement signed the Chairman of AYC, Alhaji Usman Mohammed while reacting to the allegations asked ''the CBN Governor to speak up on the matter and clear the fog surrounding the issues raised, especially, his alleged membership of the PDP.
''Sanusi spoke courageously when he appeared for screening in the Senate and that was how our love and respect for him started. He is not in the CBN for himself alone but for the North since he is occupying the Northern slot. He should take up the challenge and address the issues raised by a fellow Northerner and Muslims against him,'' Argungu added.
