The report that Nigeria's economy is the third fastest growing in the world was one news that put me off balance as a Nigerian resident in the country. The statement still stands hypothetic until when proved because there has been no sign of prosperity in the country given the level of poverty, standard of living, infrastructural decay, security and other socio-economic peculiarities. All indices and statistics that suggest such phantom growth are economic instruments of falsehood.
