Title: Gulf of Mexico spill takes toll on health
Post by: NewsCaster on Apr 20, 2012, 04:00 PM
Two years after the Deepwater Horizon oil rig exploded in the Gulf of Mexico, local residents (http://www.aljazeera.com/indepth/features/2011/09/201191716821664814.html) and clean-up workers say they have developed serious illnesses.

Those affected blame a combination of the five million barrels of oil spilled by BP and cleaning chemicals. Though some have settled with the British company, there are still several pending class-action lawsuits (http://www.aljazeera.com/indepth/inpictures/2011/10/2011101115946789573.html) by plaintiffs who say the spill caused their illness.

Al Jazeera's Dahr Jamail reports from Ocean Springs, Mississippi.
