The Festac Town Residents Association (FTRA) has condemned what it called the high-handedness of Amuwo-Odofin Local Government chairman, Comrade Ayodele Adewale, on the destruction of properties and sealing up of small and medium scale businesses in the guise of environmental sanitation in the town.

The association has therefore advised him to rescind some decisions of the council which it viewed as unwholesome.  These include the indiscriminate sealing up of business premises in Festac Town for long periods and refusing to unseal them.

In an enlarged meeting of the association on 209 Road, Saturday, April 14, the association said the LG boss must work with the association in its bid to check criminality in the town.  It lamented the determined efforts of the council to punish artisans and small scale businesses from 21 Road to 7th Avenue which had resulted in hundreds being out of work in the town.
