IBADAN—THE Oyo State Police Command, yesterday, said it had concluded scientific investigation into the alleged ritual killing of Sekinat Emiola, a 42-year-old housewife.

The News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, reported that Emiola was allegedly killed by a man said to be her lover and a male accomplice.

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bisi Okuwobi, told NAN in an interview that the case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Iyaganku, Ibadan.

She noted that the process of prosecution, which was already on, required that scientific investigation be carried out to establish the evidence.

Okuwobi said: "For us to have a good case, we must ensure that the evidence we would be presenting in court are scientifically proven. For instance, we have to scientifically link the severed head to the body of the victim."

Okuwobi, however, added that the two accused persons would be charged to court today.

The suspects, who were apprehended on Sunday, allegedly beheaded Emiola and dumped her torso  by the roadside.

Her head and hands were also buried in a shallow grave at the Oke-Aremo Cemetary in Ibadan.
