WARRI—THE people of Molume Community in Warri North Local Government Area, Delta State, have petitioned the Inspector General of Police, over the alleged arrest, prosecution and detention of some community indigenes at Okitipupa Prison, Ondo State, by the Ondo State Commissioner of Police.
They called on the IG to intervene to save the situation from degenerating into a breach of the existing peace in the state.
Molume community made the call, yesterday, in Warri, Delta State, in a petition by its lawyers.
They said that although the matter was now before the Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG, Zone 5, Benin City, Edo State, the Ondo State Commissioner of Police used his men to invade the building site in Molume community on April 17, 2012 and arrested nine persons, who were Itsekiris and Ijaws.
