(http://www.thenationonlineng.net/2011/thumbnail.php?file=prof_ben_598895123.jpg&size=article_medium) Professor Ben Nwabueze Constitutional lawyer and former Secretary General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Professor Ben Nwabueze has called on Nigerians to rise up to the socio-political challenges facing the country.[/size] He was reacting to reports credited to President Goodluck Jonathan that Nigerians should pray fervently to save the country from possible disintegration.[/font][/size]
He said that the answer to Nigeria’s problems was the setting up of a National Conference. Professor Nwabueze who spoke in his Atani, Ogbaru Council Area, Anambra State home town yesterday said the country was rotten and the rot caused the fear of collapse.[/font][/font][/size]
He said:"There must be National Conference that will involve those tribes, society groups like labour and others to hold this country together in unity.[/font]
[/size]"Anybody objecting to this is running away from reality and reality will catch up with them. If the National Assembly is going on with amendment of the constitution, let them go on. Government should set up a National Conference and make a law to pass the bill as a law".
[/size]He said further that the patriots have now designed a project through which to ensure the action termed, The Save Nigeria Project.
[/size]He accused Nigerian leaders of greed, selfishness and lack of love.
