Super Eagles skipper Joseph Yobo has revealed that the Super Eagles will be targeting winning all three of their World Cup and Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers at both home and away in the month of June.
Yobo told Complete Sports that the three matches will be tough but that the Eagles have what it takes to win all the matches in June with total commitment and focus, noting that the players have resolved after the draw in Rwanda to go for the kill in the three games slated for June.
"Playing against Namibia, Rwanda and Malawi is not going to be easy but we the players have resolved that we must give the matches our best shot to ensure that we win all. We also resolved to come early to camp as soon as the European season ends so as to keep our form," Yobo said.
"Having missed the last Nations Cup in Gabon/Equatorial Guinea, we cannot afford to start dropping points in early matches. We want to win as many as we can to ensure that we do not gamble with our chances of being in South Africa and going to the World Cup in Brazil.
"All along I have been talking to the players and letting them know the importance of these matches and they have assured that they will give it their best shot before going on off-season break. I think they are focused and they have learnt from past mistakes of first going on break before reporting to camp.
"The good thing is that the technical crew led by Stephen Keshi have been able to instill some discipline in camp and are now conforming with the rules and willing to give their best at all time. Again with the home lads angling to command regular shirts in the team, no player can afford to toy with their place in the team."
He commended the coaches for being able to fish out talents from the local league, adding that it was only a matter of time before the boys begin to reveal their true potential on the continent and the world.
