Super Eagles head coach, Stephen Keshi, has revealed that John Utaka will be part of his Super Eagles programme in the national team's crowded June programme when the team will play three crucial matches in the race for the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations and the Brazil 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Keshi disclosed that Utaka who plays his club football with Montpellier of France is hugely experienced and plays regularly for the French Ligue 1 side that are on the verge of lifting the French league trophy this season.
The Super Eagles boss who further revealed that he is currently monitoring Nigerian players in Europe also hinted that VVV Venlo of Holland striker, Okechukwu Uchebo, and former U-23 Olympic team forward, Nosa Igiebor, could be given a look-in at the senior national team in June ahead of matches against Rwanda, Namibia and Malawi.
"June is going to be a busy month for us because of the three important games coming up. But I don't want to invite too many players to camp for the matches," starts Keshi as he opens up on his plans for the matches against Rwanda, Namibia and Malawi.
"The camp is not going to be a jamboree. I will only invite players that I'll need for the matches. I don't want a situation where players will come and sit on the bench and cause unnecessary distraction.
"I have been monitoring Nigerian players in Europe. (John Obi) Mikel is doing well with Chelsea in England.
"Victor Moses is also doing well with Wigan also in England but People don't seem to be taking notice of John Utaka in France.
"He is doing great with his club, Montepeller. He has millions of experience and is playing 90 minutes for his team week in, week out.
"His team is about winning the French league this season.For the June matches, yes, I'm gonna call him up and see what he can bring to the team."
