Photo: Reuters Six explosives have been difused on the main campus of the Bayero University, Kano, within one week, raising fear and concern over safety in the institution, which came under severe attack last month.
Bomb experts intervened timely on Tuesday to difuse four explosives planted in some lecture halls and faculties, this was coming on the heels of a disturbing situation three days earlier when two improvised Explosive Devices planted in the Sociology Department were uncovered and detonated.
This development is causing a serious concern as the university is expected to resume academic lectures soon after a recess.
The Nation’s investigation revealed that the state Commissioner of Police has taken up the issue with the university authorities, complaining about the porosity of the institution.
He confirmed that a total of five IEDs were uncovered in different locations within the university in the last one week, adding that they have all been detonated.
