WARRI—THE people of Ogbe-Ijoh kingdom in Warri South- West Local Government Area of Delta State, yesterday, denied allegation that they negotiated with ex-militants to join forces with them to prevent Itsekiri from performing the epochal regatta, weekend, in honour of the Olu of Warri.

The community, in a statement by the Secretary-General, Ogbe-Ijoh Youth Council, Mr. Payebor Koremene, said the allegation by an ex-militant commander, Mark Ebiotu, alias Single Bullet, that ex-militants were approached by leaders of an unnamed Ijaw community to support them to fight Itsekiri was a farce.

He said: "The Ogbe-Ijoh people never at any time resolved to go to war with the Itsekiri people and, there was no basis to approach anybody, including the so called Ebiotu and his unknown group to help them to fight the Itsekiri.

"We challenge Ebiotu, the self-styled ex-militant, to name the leaders who approached him and his group to fight the Itsekiri."
