Title: Chevron opens economic centre for N-Delta devt

WARRI – DETERMINED to improve the living standards of people of the Niger Delta  region,  Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta, PIND, established by Chevron Nigeria Limited,  has commissioned its regional office at Ugbokodo in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.

PIND's mandate is to provide support for socio-economic development in the region through dynamic, innovative programmes and multi-stakeholder partnership focused on poverty alleviation and the promotion of peace.

Mr. Dennis Flemming, PIND Project Director, while unveiling the EDC centre, yesterday, said:  "Chevron established a  $50 million fund that PIND administers and coordinates to support a portfolio of socio-economic development programmes and partnership for a five year period."
