Division: Wholesale & Carrier Relations
Reports To: Manager-Carrier Business
Job Summary:
Manage technical relationships with carrier business partners
Facilitate and co-ordinate with internal and external technical teams to achieve the unit's goals and objectives
Principal Functions:
Facilitate and co-ordinate the technical aspects of interconnect between Etisalat Nigeria and other operators/ carriers
Liaise with other interconnect operators to establish new Points of Interconnect (POIs) and expand existing POIs
Co-ordinate with the core network team to resolve all faults relating to interconnect links
Liaise with international carriers/ operators on the topology diagram for new international cross connections
Work with the network team to develop Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for upstream providers
Co-ordinate with international upstream partners on voice and data connectivity or expansion
Develop the unit's technical templates
Prepare agreed periodic activity and performance reports for the attention of the Manager-Carrier Business
Perform other duties assigned by the Manager-Carrier Business
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an Engineering-related discipline
Relevant postgraduate/ professional qualifications/ certifications in related fields will be an added advantage
Experience & Skills:
Between two (2) and five (5) years directly-relevant post-NYSC work experience, with at least two (2) years experience as a core network engineer
Ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate:
• Good knowledge of different multiplexers (Huawei switches and OSN, Siemens hiT, Alcatel ADM and Ericsson DXX) configuration features
• Sound understanding of different transmission capacity requirements, such as E1, STM-4 and STM-16
• Good knowledge of IP over SDH circuit connection
• Familiarity with processes and procedures for setting up interconnect transmission circuits
• Good understanding of IP data communication technology
• Familiarity with different data communications equipment such as Cisco routers and switches, Huawei routers, etc
• Excellent skills in Ethernet technology deployment
• Excellent skills in microwave radio configuration and maintenance
• Good understanding of transmission link hierarchy (SDH, PDH, Ethernet)
• Good communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
