1. JOB SUMMARY
The Fleet Business Partner is responsible for developing and executing plans to achieve set target for transporters allocated to them. The incumbent shall be responsible for the direct account management of all transporters. This will include turnaround time, maintenance schedule, GIT position, calibration status.
In addition, the Fleet business partner is the primary focal point of the transporters for dispute resolution, payment processing and ensuring that transporter trucks are always available for use.
2. SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational
• Ensure a comprehensive and up-to-date database of information on all existing Transporters and fleet is maintained at all times.
• Achieve truck turnaround required by all fleet in this watch.
• Evaluate transporters performance, provides administrative support around activities of transporters towards attainment of the company's logistics requirements on a daily basis.
• Make suitable recommendations on strategies for relating with each transporter and create a relationship Plan per transporter. Act as primary client interface.
• Assist Fleet Supervisor in the design of strategies for tracking and Fleet Management which include drafting program guidelines, policies and related documentation.
• Supports the supervision of transporters and the activities of truck drivers to minimize G.I.T and potential product losses.
• Ensure accurate record of transporters/trucks database by keeping regular updates.
• Assesses fleet quality and make recommendations for improving compliance to performance standards: escalates issues to the Fleet Supervisor when there is a need to impose appropriate sanctions
• Communicate plans and strategies to transporters.
• Ensures all trucks meet accepted company standards and communicate to Depot Operatives while enforcing compliance.
• Ensures that transporters are adequately equipped to operate by providing information on payment and resources required to operate efficiently.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Fleet Business Partner Supervisor.
• Prepare weekly availability programs for each transporters truck within scope.
Business Management & Performance Reporting
• Prepare regular analytical reviews of truck performance, turnaround, availability in relation to planning.
• Carry out periodic reviews of the prevailing operating environment to determine the company's areas of strength and weakness and identify emerging opportunities/threats; ensure analysis covers industry/competitor analysis/benchmarking (pricing, suppliers, customers, existing and new product, business growth patterns), market analysis (trends, technology) etc.
• Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Fleet Business Partner Supervisor from time to time.
3. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• Good 1st degree from a recognized university
• 1 year cognate work experience in the Oil & Gas downstream industry sector
