Eligibility:
Eligible candidates must be Australian citizens or permanent residents in one of the following groups:
• a Year 12 or mature age student intending to undertake further study in a teacher education program at a South Australian higher education provider
• a pre-service student currently undertaking a full-time teacher education program at a South Australian higher education provider
• graduates from non teaching backgrounds, career change professionals, paraprofessionals or tradespersons currently
undertaking, or intending to undertake, a full-time post graduate teacher education program at a South Australian higher education provider.
Scholarship Open for International Students: No
Scholarship Description:
• support eligible teacher education students while undertaking study in identified areas of need
• guarantee permanent employment in a South Australian government country school upon successful completion of all scholarship requirements. Three categories of country teaching scholarships are available:
1. $26,000 Country Teaching Scholarshiptargets final year undergraduate and postgraduate teacher education students for identified hard-to-fill country vacancies.
2. $20,000 Country Teaching Scholarship targets final year undergraduate and postgraduate teacher education students
committed to teaching in rural and remote schools in the Eyre & Western and Far North Regions.
3. $10,000 Country Teaching Scholarship targets Year 12 students, undergraduate and postgraduate teacher education
students with a commitment to country teaching.
