Job Description:
• Senior position requiring hands on management of Contract commercial issues, Finance/Accounts, HR, IT, Administration (Travel,
• Expat Accommodations and Office Facilities) and Training for this mega EPCM program in a safety oriented culture. In addition,
• Project Controls functionally reports to the Project Services Manager although primary management is through Project Controls
• Manager reporting to project managers.
Additional responsibilities include:
1) stand in for Program Director during rotational absences,
2) oversee Nigerian content reporting and advise on local content issues,
3) review and advise on purchase orders and on subcontracts,
4) high level check and review accounts payable/accounts receivable invoice documentation for compliance with company and
program-specific policies and procedures
5) high level check and review of subcontract and PO awards documentation
6) manage/administer the general program budget (not project specific),
7) review/report/advise on community assistance projects,
8) advise/measure/report on KPIs,
9) advise/negotiate prime contract
10) ensure compliance with the prime contract T&C's
11) interface with client regularly to ensure alignment on contract administration,
12) advise on employment agreement administration,
13) advise on expat apartment leasing
14) review monthly program reports,
15) review monthly financial reports,
16) ensure compliance with general policy and procedures,
17) be a model of ethical behaviour and ensure compliance with business conduct policy
18) develop local capacity
19) champion safety
The EPCM-1 program is a $5B TIC suite of on and offshore oil and gas pipelines and platform projects, both brownfield and
greenfield. Client is Mobil Producing Nigeria (as the operating JV partner of an NNPC, the national oil comp). Over time, additional
projects have been added to the program and the general expectation is that more projects will be added in the future. Primary
office location is Lagos though there are several field locations outside of Lagos. Current projects are expected to continue to 2016.
Current project staffing level is 350, including dedicated Engineering, Procurement, Contracts, Construction Management, Project
Management, Project Controls, Safety, QA/QC, HR, IT, Finance and Admin staff.
Job Specific Knowledge:
• Finance, accounts, business management and administration, project controls systems.
• At least one previous A similar role with a successful track record on an EPC/ EPCM project in value over $500m
Industry Specific Experience:
15 years of diversified and applicable experience, with demonstrated proficiency in management and business skills, ideally working in a project services/business management role on mega hydrocarbon or resource development projects in a developing country, is preferred.
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:
University Degree/ tertiary Diploma in a Business, Management or Finance/Accounting discipline
HSE Capability:
Safety – Responsible for personal safety and safe working practices of staff. Understand and follow HSE procedures.
IT Skills:
Proficiency in utilizing PC and MS Office suite
People Skills:
Strong communications, interpersonal skills, excellent customer relation skills. Cultural awareness, tolerance, patience
Other: Desirable – Experience in working in a developing country
