There is an exciting opportunity to potentially be involved with one of the world's largest offshore projects as Lead Mechanical Engineer. The engineering team will be based in Nigeria on a rotational assignment for upto 24 months. The successful candidate will have previous overseas and lumpsum experience as well as experience in Engineering design of offshore, topsides and/or FPSO projects.
Purpose of this role:
To ensure that mechanical design integrity is not compromised while managing the mechanical engineering department in the execution of the project.
Main Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
• Overall supervision of mechanical engineers.
• Technical competence of Mechanical engineering personnel.
• Forecast requirement for mechanical engineering resources and allocate those resources.
• Mechanical design integrity of workscope and maintenance of standards.
• Identify mechanical software necessary to enable mechanical group to function effectively.
• Inter discipline communication development. Mechanical group communication development.
• Prepare mechanical man-hour estimate to perform project tasks.
• Manage mechanical design and any design changes within budget and schedule.
Safety – Responsible for personal safety safe working practices. Understand and follow procedures.
Staff Responsibilities
Responsible for the well being of all direct reports as identified by the project.
The following qualification and experiences are preferred:
•Lump sum and overseas experience
•Experince in engineering design of offshore, topsides and FPSO projects
•Engineering degree or relevant education/experience
•Vast amount of years experience in oil & gas / refinery / petrochemical industry
•Proven experience within an exngineering manager role on overseas and lumpsum projects
