THE Wilson Badejo Foundation (WBF) will today hold its fifth annual lecture titled: "Nigeria's Great Resources and the Paradox of Economic Poverty", at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs,(NIIA) Victoria Island, Lagos.
Speaking on the event, the Chairman and Founder WBF, Rev. Wilson Badejo bemoaned the devastating effect of poverty in the country and said that until the symptoms of poverty were adequately treated the problem would persist.
He urged Nigerian leaders to consider a shift in paradigm and devote time, efforts and resources to the citizenry so that the much-desired peace could reign supreme in the country.
He added that it was in a bid to ameliorate the plight of the poor that the foundation came up five years ago through its awareness campaign, empowerment programmes, training, scholarship, counseling and health care activities to restore hope to the needy.
