Job Purpose:
This individual will act as a Product Manager responsible for EAF transactions with official agencies (including ECA, multilaterals, bilateral), geographic and client responsibilities. Candidates should have significant Export & Agency, Corporate Finance and/or Trade experience and experience in the Capital market. The candidate should have a successful transactional track record in the emerging markets, preferably Africa, a solid grounding in credit with strong team leadership credentials.
The individual will report into CTS Nigeria Head with matrix into the EAF Africa Head.
Job Background/context:
Export and Agency Finance (EAF) is part of Trade which in turn is part of Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS) within the Citi Transaction Services (CTS) Division of Citi. EAF arranges short, medium and long term structured financing and provides export financing advice to Citi's clients globally. The advice relates to clients in developed and emerging market countries who are engaged in global trade, capital projects and investments. EAF arranges and participates globally in structured financings that manage risk through credit and political risk support from sovereign agencies and insurers.
The job is critical in delivering against a built-up momentum for EAF deals in Nigeria, and Africa as a whole.
The EAF Product Manager will be based in Lagos, Nigeria. The individual will have coverage and supporting responsibility for Nigerian clients for EAF deals as described in this job specification.
Desired Skills & Experience
Key Responsibilities:
The EAF Product Manager will be responsible for pitching new EAF business for Nigeria. This will include, providing advice, structuring, negotiating, and executing transactions through to closing. The preferred candidate needs to be able to grow all segments of the business from short term agency covered transactions working with trade services in particular and the traditional medium term buyer's credit business.
Some of the key responsibilities will include:
• Market EAF to corporate clients and financial institutions in Nigeria with the objective to increase EAF deals originated and executed in Nigeria.
• Structure transactions to cover all risks as per Citi policies and obtaining the necessary internal approvals.
• Have a regular client communication in order to structure and negotiate transactions in terms of pricing, structure, and/or legal matters.
• Lead the execution process once deals move to execution stage (i.e. work with Credit Risk, Compliance, Finance, and the client to ensure successful closure of deals). This may involve work on the existing transaction portfolio.
• Work closely with EMEA Trade Sales and Coverage teams to identify key EAF opportunities in Nigeria.

Qualifications:
