Thiess Services and International Riversymposium and International WaterCentre Alumni Network (IWCAN) announce River Management Young Achievers Award for International students, Australia 2012

Eligibility:

-Domestic or international professionals or students aged 35 or under (at the time of entry) with at least 2 years' experience in a river related sector who:

-emonstrate leadership and positive outcomes in a river related area (e.g. a new catchment management initiative, setting up a new waterway group) or can showcase outstanding research in a water/river related field;

-If selected as a finalist, are available to attend the 15th International Riversymposium *; and

-Have completed their work within the 2011 calendar year (although work could have been commenced at an earlier date).

Scholarship Description: Thiess Services is proud to partner with the International Riversymposium and International WaterCentre Alumni Network (IWCAN) to sponsor the River Management Young Achievers Award (RMYAA) over the next three years. This important initiative identifies and rewards individuals under 35 who have demonstrated innovation and excellence in river and waterways management. In the past, the award has predominantly recognised those in the academic arena. From 2012, the Award will not only focus on academic research but will broaden its horizon to include any individual waterway or river management contribution where innovation and excellence is the outcome. To recognise the importance of this Award, the winner will receive AUD $3000, with each runner up receiving AUD $250. If you have undertaken great work in this area we encourage you to consider entering this prestigious Award.
