Job Title: Consultancy On Improving Bauchi State Health MDA Coordination

Roles and responsibilities:

1.The consultants or firm shall conduct desk review of relevant literatures produced in the past on coordination/collaboration by other organization in the health MDAs..

2.Collect all and Review the bills establishing each agency; study each agencies roles and responsibilities, communication, decision making process, linkages between ministerial departments, as well as communication between the SMOH and its agencies.

3.Conduct a briefing meeting with the management of health MDAs to brief them on the modalities of the activity.

4.Briefing meeting with SMOH to brief them on how to go about conducting this activity and for them to make additional inputs in the consultants work plan.

5.Conduct interactive sessions with key staff of the SMOH ministerial department/units, and Agencies to establish existing coordination mechanism and gaps.

6.Analyze and define the situation, strengths, needs, and gaps in the area of collaboration/coordination of the Health sector, and proffer solution/recommendations to SMOH, Agencies, Partners, including TSHIP for consideration/implementation.

7.To provide/propose needed technical assistance in form of training, mentoring for the management and other support staff in addition to the team building training.

Skill set:

1.Background in health management and administration, with Public Health working experience for not less than fifteen years.

2.Combined team expertise, experience and background in organization and management development, team building, and good facilitation skills.

3.Prior experience in planning, managing or evaluating coordination, collaboration or partnership projects/activities including intra- and inter-sectoral coordination and collaboration within the health sector).

4.Experience in training for team building and behavioral change, preferably in large or complex organizations involving different professionals.

5.A trained and skilled facilitator with very good public relations

6.Previous experience in conducting such activity is an added advantage.

7.Excellent oral and written communication and analytical skills

8.Strong computer skills including proficiency in Internet research
