Job description:
• Works closely with Development/Production Geophysicists & Reservoir Engineers, Drilling Team, Completions Team, Subsurface Modeling Specialists, and Technical Support Staff on development projects as part of an integrated evaluation team;
• Integrates information from well logs, core, biostratigraphic reports and seismic data to develop an interpretation of deepwater depositional environments and facies;
• Works on a multidisciplinary team to develop 3-D structural and reservoir property models using reservoir modeling software, such as Petrel;
Quantifies subsurface uncertainty using 3D Static modeling techniques and works with Reservoir Engineers to derive hydrocarbon resource distribution estimates during the development phase discoveries;
• Establishes the technical basis for well objectives and locations and works with Geophysicists, Reservoir Engineers and the Drilling Team to plan development wells;
• Participates in peer-based risk and resource estimation processes, ensuring adherence to such processes in conducting evaluations and seeking input from peers to ensure achievement of high-quality technical evaluations;
• Estimates oil and gas reserves in proven or prospective fields. Participates in internal and third-party reserve audits. Works closely with Reservoir Engineers in the development option screening process;
• Assists in evaluation of acquisition proposals, which may include data room visitation;
• Collaborates in the generation and execution of development plans for deepwater fields. Works with the Appraisal Team to transition assets from Appraisal Team to Production Team;
• Initiates and directs major geological studies. Evaluates new geological techniques and software products and makes recommendations on emerging technologies;
• Mentors and provides technical assistance to junior staff. Helps design appropriate training projects for new hires and summer interns
Requirements:
• Master's degree in Geology or Geophysics;
• Minimum of 15 years in an active E&P Company.
• Experience using 3D static modelling etc. techniques to quantify subsurface uncertainty;
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced work environment, and be able to handle multiple projects at once
