ABEOKUTA — Ogun State House of Assembly, yesterday, ordered the 11 former lawmakers who ran the affairs of the assembly at the twilight of the immediate past administration to account for N250 million belonging to the legislature.
The Ogun Assembly, however, stated that until the former lawmakers explained how they spent the N250 million during the nine-month that the House was closed, when they ran its affairs, they would not be paid their severance allowance.
Speaker of the assembly, Mr. Suraj Adekunbi, said this at a briefing, to commemorate the first anniversary of the seventh legislature in Abeokuta.
It will be recalled that, the 11 former lawmakers had impeached 15 of their colleagues, nine months to the end of the administration and appointed Soyemi Coker as speaker.
