Job Title: Boat Mechanic, FSN-05/FP-09

Location: Lagos – U.S. Consulate General

Open To: All Interested Candidates

Organisation: United States Mission, Abuja

WORK HOURS: Full-time; 48 hours/week

SALARY: OR-Ordinarily Resident: N1,981,578 per annum (Starting basic Salary)

Position Grade: FSN-05

In addition to the basic salary, all allowances will be paid in accordance with the U.S. Mission Local Compensation Plan (LCP).

NOR-Not Ordinarily Resident: (AEFM) – US$31,963;

EFM/MOH – US$27,431 (Starting Salary) per annum.

Position Grade: FP-09

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:

•   The incumbent is responsible for examining all U.S. Consulate boats for problems, conducting repairs, performing safety checks and periodic preventive maintenance on all consulate boats.

•   Incumbent must be willing to learn vehicle repairs and train other mechanics on boat repairs.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

NOTE: All applicants MUST address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each criterion or the application will not be considered.

1. Completion of Secondary School with vocational training is required.

2. Minimum of five (5) years of experience with different types of Marine boats.

3. The knowledge and ability to diagnose, service and repair boats with little supervision is

required.

4. Level III (Good working knowledge) written and oral English is required.

5. Must have a valid Nigerian driver's license.

6. Must be able to operate the boat trailer to transport boats from one location to another.
