Job Title: Treasury Accounting Assistant I (2-year renewable contract)

Organisation: International Institute of Tropical Agriculture – IITA
The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture seeks suitable candidate for the following position at the Institute's Headquarters in Ibadan.
Duties:
Successful candidate will among other things perform the following:
• Handling of blank cheques during working hours and also write cheques;
• Keeping of bank book records and reconcile bank statements, and statements of accounts of Suppliers;
• Initiating letters of fund transfer, give notice of remittance of fund transfer to payees and respond to enquiries on fund transfer and payments;
• Assist in the reconciliation of accounts from IITA Limited (UK); collate foreign suppliers' cheques and mailing through IITA Limited;
• Responding Internal/External Auditors' queries on payment to suppliers;
• Handling of Oracle AP and GL responsibilities and carry out data entries activities;
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned by your Supervisor
Qualification and Experience:
National Diploma in Accounting or Intermediate ICAN certificate plus minimum of four (4) years accounting working experience in a well structured organisation.
The ideal candidate must
• Be a good team player;
• Have very good communication skills;
• Be competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel.
• Be honest, trustworthy, hardworking and be able to perform under pressure.
Key Competencies:
Hands-on knowledge of Oracle Financial Applications.
Possession of typing skill and ability to enter data are added advantages.
