Title: Bayelsa releases N6bn for road projects

Yenagoa – Bayelsa State Government has promised to resuscitate the abandoned three senatorial roads with the release of N6 billion to three construction firms for the speedy completion of the projects, with a view to fast tracking development in the hinterland.

Presenting the cheques at Government House, Yanagoa, Governor Seriake Dickson urged the construction firms, to ensure they deliver quality job, taking into cognisance specification and concept of the road projects.

He said the presentation of the cheques marked the commencement of infrastructural development of the state and provision of critical facilities that would aid socio-economic growth and open up the far flung communities in the state.

A breakdown of the funds released shows that N2 billion was for the construction of Yenagoa-Oporoma Road by Julius Berger, representing the Central Senatorial road project; N2.5 billion for the construction of Sagbama-Ekeremor Road in the West Senatorial district road to Setraco and N1.5 billion to China Construction Company  for the execution of Etegwe –Tombia Road.
