Post by: sparrow on Nov 27, 2010, 09:01 AM
A presidential aspirant of the Action Congress of Nigeria, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, has urged Nigerians to vote out the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from power in 2011.

Ribadu made the plea in his reaction to the Court of Appeal declaration of ACN candidate Rauf Aregbesola as the Governor of Osun State.

Ribadu said: "The train of justice is on an irresistible motion in our land as the ACN candidate evidenced again by today's victory of my brother and friend Rauf Aregbesola, in court, as the legitimate gubernatorial winner in Osun state .

"In rejoicing with the great people of Osun at this prospect of good governance and a truly service-oriented administration, I call on us all to keep our eyes on the ball towards next year's election. Let us register in massive numbers in the January INEC voters registration; vote out the PDP, and elect ACN candidates come April 2011."

The National Chairman of the Citizens Popular Party, Chief Maxi Okwu, said: "The verdict handed down by the Court of Appeal Ibadan Division is highlife, rap music, samba, and reggae to all lovers of democracy in Nigeria .

"It came nearly four years late; however as it is said in the cliché 'better late than never.'

"We congratulate and celebrate with Governor-elect Engr Rauf Aregbesola whose doggedness was Titanic.

"We also congratulate Chief Bisi Akande national chair ACN, and more especially party Leader Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinibu. With this victory the Southwest, that bastion of progressive politics, has been recovered from the clutches of agents of darkness packaged in 2003 by ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo.
