Ondo State governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, says he will soon make his intention known soon on whether or not he will be seeking the people's mandate for a second term in office.

The governor made the declaration while addressing the people of Ajagba in Irele Local Government at the weekend when they visited him and requested that he declare his interest for a second term in office.

The political and community leaders of Ajagba, led by the Ahaba, Oba Thomas Adesayo had visited the governor to declare their support for the continuity of Mimiko in office.

Reacting to the request, Mimiko assured  that he will not let them down for declaring their support for him to continue in office beyond 2013.

He said his response to the second term demand of the people will be made known soon even as he reported that various other groups and communities had made similar calls.

"As regard the 2012 gubernatorial election in October, very soon, I will give my response about this second term issue. Many people, groups, communities and bodies have come with the same request demanding for continuity. You won't wait for long to know my decision on the matter" Mimiko told his visitors.

He affirmed that "Ajagba has a tradition of unity once they decide to move and we know what that unity means".

Earlier, the Ajagba community, in an address read by its Secretary, Chief Akinola Omoge, lauded Mimiko for the unprecedented development that Ondo State had witnessed since the present administration came on board.
