Purpose Statement:
• In this role, you will Report to the Financial Controller and will be responsible for coordinating and managing the general accounting function of SGL, primarily maintaining the accuracy, integrity and completeness of the ledger accounts and financial statements.
• To provide management of SGL and the Group Head-Finance accurate and timely accounting and financial information required for effective management decision making aimed at ensuring the long term success of the business.
• To implement effective financial policies, procedures and systems, in agreement with the Financial Controller, and in compliance with corporate reporting guidelines and legal / other fiscal regulations.
Key Deliverables:
• General Accounting and Transaction management of SGL – Operate an efficient accounting system capable of documenting all company's transactions and generating timely and reliable management reports. Also ensure that the accounting systems in use are regularly updated to accommodate business expansion and developments.
• Responsible for the preparation of External Financial reports of SGL in the prescribed format that meets the minimum requirement of relevant regulatory authorities and other stakeholders.
• Periodic Management reports – Prepare prompt and accurate management reports to support effective management decision making. Policies and procedures must be maintained to ensure the integrity and timeliness of reports.
• Billing of Shared Service Centre costs – Ensure that SSC costs are billed promptly to all business partners
• Reconciliation of Intercompany balances with related entities.

Minimum Qualification / Experience:
• A good First University Degree or its equivalent plus a Professional Certificate in Accounting, preferably ICAN or its equivalent.

• Tax consultant and relevant tax authorities.
• External Auditors, to conduct statutory annual audit and management control evaluation.
• Third parties and other suppliers of goods and services.
