Responsibilities:
• Embed improvements in HSSE behaviours and performance through appropriate planning,auditing,and inspections of contractor's work areas and equipment for a project.
• Responsible for and review plans of others to ensure that each project is governed by a comprehensive project-specific HSSE and ER plan. Participates in HSE incident investigation and close out of projects.
• HSE-critical role which contributes to minimizing costs of projects without jeopardizing the overall project objectives or HSSE performance.
• Liaise with customers to influence project design, timing and delivery. Track costs and performance during project execution.
• Participate in review meetings, and share learnings for all other projects where they could be applicable.
• Influence the revision and ever-greening of EP-18 and other agreed Geomatics standards to enable global co-ordination that supports SCiN needs.
• Know and implement DCAF standards.
• Coordinate Technical Assurance of individual deliverables. Liaise with TA2/1 to ensure QC actions are closed out and documented.
• Participate in Geomatics discipline activities (e.g. SKS,CINs,newsletters). Be part of one discipline improvement project.
• Represent Shell to governmental authorities, partners, and contractors regarding survey issues (both technical and regulatory) for varying projects.
• Participate in and present to internal and external conferences. Sharing knowledge and experience, recognising technology gaps and opportunities.
• Act as technical coach to one or more staff within own discipline and team.
Requirements:
• Nigerian Registered Surveyor (or international equivalent professional credentials) preferred.
• Sound understanding of all of the subject matter areas, and demonstrable skills in GIM areas.
• Ability to apply practices and techniques in GIS and related technologies and/or Geomatics Operations areas such as navigation and positioning systems, data acquisition systems.
• Demonstrable knowledge and ability to recommend solutions for the hardware, software, and workflows necessary to deliver timely solutions for the business.
• Knowledge of geodetic integrity issues and ability to implement standards.
• Knowledge of common scripting languages and geo-processing libraries.
• An understanding of the E&P business and where GIS and GIM impact on business decisions.
• Post-grad qualification is preferred but not mandatory
