Responsibilities:
Main activities associated to the role of a Senior Production Seismologist in one of the Study teams are:
• Provide Production Seismic input into focused opportunity development teams within the Studies organisation.
• Hands-on structural (and stratigraphic) interpretation of 3D seismic data (preferentially with Petrel SI) in order to progress models into 3D reservoir modelling. In a few instances, interpretation of 2D seismic data might be required to complement the 3D seismic data in order to have a more robust structural model over a larger area.
• Apply advanced/emerging technologies/techniques/processes (including QI analysis) for better definition of the subsurface to locate and quantify the un-swept remaining oil and reduce well count.
• Identify areas where the acquisition of additional seismic and/or processing/reprocessing opportunities would be an economic method of reducing geological uncertainties.
• Contribute to the delivery and implementation of quality field and project development plans as part of the assigned opportunity development teams.
• Management of Production Seismic data and project plans relating to projects being worked on. Ensure effective use of relevant discipline and sub-surface data.
• Liaise with the Exploration and Geophysical functions and maintain synergy in seismic interpretation, in maturing of appraisal wells and in geophysical models.
• Supporting, supervising, coaching and mentoring of more junior PS staff in the FES organization.
• Ensure PS Discipline technical QCing within Study Team.
• Provide support for project execution and drilling operations as required for the projects worked on.
• Participate (as reviewer) in project reviews (VAR's and ITR's)
• Lead and manage projects when appointed by Study Team Leader (this selection will be based on competence and availability as senior discipline engineers).
Requirements:
• Direct Seismic interpretation and mapping hands-on experience
• Deep experience Structural geology, Clastics sedimentology and reservoir geological modelling , evaluate drilling opportunities and evolve development concept and integrated Field Development
• Competent technical professional with sound knowledge of other, non-Geosciences, Petroleum Engineering Disciplines
• Demonstrated ability to successfully manage HSSE
• Good team player – ability to develop and maintain relationships of mutual respect at all levels in a challenging working environment.
• Good Oil industry experience and knowledge of subject discipline
