Job Title: Lead Project Engineer – Floating Systems (OPL 245)

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

General Position Definition:

OPL 245 is a deepwater block in the Gulf of Guinea off the coast of Nigeria.  The block ownership is 50% ENI and 50% SNEPCo with ENI as the operator.  ENI has recently obtained their interest in the block and is now looking to move quickly to development an existing oil discovery, ZabaZaba.  SNEPCo will have an active "Shadow Team" to provide deepwater experience, assistance, and assurance, as well as Shell secondees in the ENI design team.. This secondee position will have the opportunity to contribute materially to the shape and direction of the project and in the building of successful relationships with ENI.   

Purpose:

Shell is the NOV partner in this Joint Venture project and the successful applicant will be seconded into the ENI project team to work as a fully integrated project team member, at a senior level. He/She will be working with the ENI OPDS (Opportunity & Project Development System) and will also need to specify requirements that meet demands of the Shell ORP to ensure the various DG gates are successfully achieved, via his/her influencing skills (mastery level). He/She will proactively ensure there is synergy between Shell & Eni audits, to minimise any duplicate Shell audit at these DG. The successful applicant will join ENI at the Select phase, and stay all the way through to the Execute stage. He/She will have to demonstrate that the Front End concept has been fully explore and evaluated and the optimal concept selected, with quality deliverable including Basis of Design, Contracting Strategy that meet the NCDMB requirements, and allows VAR 3 to be taken (and passed).     

Experience and Qualifications required:

•   Minimum 15 years Project Engineering experience preferably with deepwater project exposure, especially to floating systems.

•   Solid background in all aspects of EP project execution including design, procurement, fabrication, installation, commissioning, and start-up. Knowledge of Shell's Opportunity Realization Process, Top Quartile Project Delivery & Project management tools. Be able to to take on process improvement initiatives

•   Assessed at or immediately ready for assessment at GPES Level 2

•   Preferred experience in working and delivering in a multi-cultural environment, preferably with a proven track record of working in an NOV, protecting and enhancing Shell's position as JV partner of choice

•   Good technical, interpersonal and team-working skills. Some negotiating and good auditing skills will be advantageous.
