There is some confusion as to who to celebrate as a fall out of the historic reversal of the almost four years old vote robbery and mandate kidnapping in Osun. One is forced to declare Engineer Rauf Aregbesola as the man of the moment. Only a few would dispute that. But then we can also say the 'people of the moment' are the men and women behind this slightly built, steely man of unbelievable determination and conviction. And no one would raise any eyebrow.
The only way to resolve it all is to just declare the victorious team in Osun as the team of the moment. Between Aregbesola, the Action Congress of Nigeria under whose banner he won the election, the teeming mass of people who waited and worked for the entrenchment of the new order, the honour is enough for all to share.
Now the reality in Osun has a lot of similarities with Edo, Ondo and Ekiti States. Yet there is that distinctiveness, the uniqueness of each situation and circumstance. Each of the areas where the face of electoral recklessness has received huge blows, has peculiar realities that must be celebrated, irrespective of the now common reality of judicial redemption.
