A GROUP, Human Rights Writers' Association of Nigeria (HURIWA), Wednesday cautioned the National Assembly against inviting the Central Bank Governor Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, Finance Minister Olusegun Aganga and Presidential Adviser on Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) Amina Al-Zubair to clarify their statements on federal lawmakers' pay.

The invitation is an affront to the constitutionally guaranteed freedom of expression, the group said, urging the lawmakers to stop behaving like legislative bullies and tyrants.
The group also canvassed the creation of what it calls "part-time" National Assembly to save the nation from imminent economic collapse that may result from the overhead of the current National Assembly put at 25 per cent of the budget.
